The POW/MIA Freedom Fighters sprung from the POW/MIA Ring,
which was the very first Webring ever created in an effort to bring the POW/MIA
Issue to the forefront by linking Honor, Dedication, Adopted POW/MIA pages.
Every webpage in the POW/MIA Ring represents a Voice that says, "I
CARE ABOUT OUR POW/MIA'S AND THEY WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN!"
As our voices carried far and wide...from Internet into the Community, and
more people became involved in this very important issue of a full accounting
of our POW/MIA's, so grew our work. We became more than *just a ring, linking
webpages together*.
POW/MIA Freedom Fighters were born.......
Together we are FIGHTING for our POW/MIA's FREEDOM!!
Whether you are a Member, Supporter, or Visitor to POW/MIA Freedom
Fighters and the POW/MIA Ring We Thank You All for the Support
of the POW/MIA Cause!
Please feel free to use the above graphic to link back to here.
The POW/MIA Freedom Fighters promotes the full acknowledgement of
our POW/MIAs by anyone who wishes to honor those men and women left behind
and abandoned; by anyone who wishes to fight to obtain a full and accurate
accounting of the men and women left unaccounted for; by anyone who wishes
to help educate the public about our POW/MIA's; and by anyone who wishes
to change legislation to ensure this never happens again!
Our goals, and what we are asking of our government, are:
The timely, honest and thorough investigation of all live-sighting reports.
The repatriation of any surviving POWMIAs (or, in the event they do not wish
to return, an opportunity for the families to hear it for themselves from
their loved one)
Recovery of ALL recoverable remains and a strong statement from our government
regarding warehousing of remains by the Vietnamese.
The declassification of documents pertaining to POW/MIA's. We believe that
the POW/MIA families are entitled to see any and all information related
to their loved one.
We are NOT asking anyone to raise the dead. We accept that many or most of
those listed as missing may have died in action or in captivity. We are NOT
asking anyone to recover unrecoverable remains. The remains of a pilot shot
down in flames in 1968 over the South China Sea, whose wingman watched the
plane sink below the surface or explode in a fireball, can reasonably be
deemed unrecoverable.
We DO insist that all legitimate questions of family members be answered
honestly and as fully as possible. We DO NOT blindly accept everything that
comes out of DPMO, DOD or anywhere else inside the beltway. Neither do we
subscribe to outrageous conspiracy theories.
While the noble image evoked by the black and white POW/MIA logo remains
the symbol of what we are fighting for, the aim of the POW/MIA Freedom Fighters
is to be the voice, rather than a symbol, of those we wish to bring back
home.
