Rank: Corporal - Ring Gun W. on the Rosalia Rocket
Date of Loss: 3 December 1944 on a bombing mission over Tokyo, Japan
Branch/Unit: 20th AirForce, 500th Bomb Group, 881st Squadron on Saipan, Marianas Islands
"The following is an account of what happened to my crew to the best of my knowledge:
Corporal Able was last seen by Corporal Schroeder just before Corporal Schroeder left the airplane. From Corporal Schroeder's report, Corporal Able had been hit, and had slipped out of his ringsight position. When last seen he was standing beside his seat seemingly in a dazed condition. Nothing more was ever heard about Corporal Able and I doubt if he ever got out of the airplane. The extent of his injury was not known as Corporal Schroeder only reports that he could observe blood on Corporal Able and around his gun position."
Please read the information below which contains more details about Corporal Able.
